I am getting ready to do a full brake job pads, rotors, maybe calipers if I can find a good deal. I see alot of drilled rotors and lots of people upgrading to them. Years ago when drag racing competitively I was always told by my crew chief slotted or solid rotors have more material for a better bite and less chance for brake pad materiel build up (some people call it warped) any thoughts?

solid blanks work just fine, r1 sells them as well as drilled and slotted. if your going all new you can get them for about 200 for all 4 corners, will be the best damn brakes you ever owned. i promise you that. they will be all i buy from now on.

pretty much cheaper then any parts store brands made form cheap steel.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

+1 on R1 brakes. I upgraded all around with drilled rotors and ceramic pads 2 years ago. Stayed with my stock calipers (although I painted them red). Could not be happier.

I have to say not to go with "r1 concepts" rotors and pads. When I upgraded to fbody brakes awhile back I got their eline package that came with drilled/slotted rotors and pads. Stopping wise they performed very well, and I was very pleased with the performance. The problem is only approximately 7500miles later the pads are completely gone and need to be changed, on top of that the rotors have a sh*t ton of micro cracks. I understand by choosing drilled rotors your very likely to develop cracks, but multiple cracks on each drill hole not even 10k miles later? Thats just not right. Additionally I ordered the black coated rotors and they sent me standard silver (Not a big deal, but still).

Before anyone wants to tell me i did something wrong, the calipers were freshly rebuilt with all new hardware, I followed the break in procedure that r1 instructed, and the car is daily driver. It never sees race tracks and I'm the furthest thing from an aggresive barker, I also am not a moron and do not ride the brakes. Pads were worn evenly on inspection as well
