Installing an aftermarket HU and don't feel like dropping another $100+ on a wire harness. My question is what is the best way to tap into the fuse for the accessory power. In another post this was listed as the easiest way to access GM's RAP system. Side note; install is on a 2005 GP SE.

$100 for wire harness? Really? Do you mean the wire harness adapter to connect your head unit to the stock wiring connector? Definitely not $100, more like $15-20. You can get it at crutchfield even if you don't buy the head unit there. If you do, you get it free. Just sayin...

It's more to it then that he needs a special harness to maintain chimes, onstar etc. w/o the car will continue to flash service codes.

any 04+ I believe is a little more advanced than ours. I know on my brothers 01 cavi he was supposed to have a similar adapter and he didn't want to pay for it so we had to wire it all up and hope for the best. In the end it worked. Us 97-03 guys are lucky and don't have all the chimes and stuff through the radio.
