I have a 2000 GTP and lets face it.... the stock stereo just sucks. Not to mention im pretty sure some of the wires are loose because my front speakers are cutting in and out. So I want to upgrade my deck and wire in a sub and amp.

What deck install kit, wire adapter kit, amp, sub, etc should I get?
anyone on here an expert in this area that could help me out so Im not wasting my money on something that wont work well in my vehicle?

Crutchfield will tell you everything you need to know.

Amp and Sub is up to you.
For the mount you can get a cheaper one or get a HUmount which looks 480917340981732 times better.

Do your research @ Crutchfield and buy your equipment from Sonic Electronics. Much cheaper.

Just did my '04 with Monsoon. Used all PAC Audio integration off Ebay, Kenwood 9980 refurbished, tapped into factory amp for fronts, installing infinity 6x9s with amp in back, adapter to bypass emergency brake switch for use of Nav and video while moving, front and rear cameras. Now set up for iPhone, Pandora, bluetooth, hands of calling, USB input, 3.5mm Audio/Video input, and my onStar is still operational. Have a sub currently, but may remove depending on sound output of 6x9s.
