Hey i have an 08 grand prix. As of now the whole stero is stock. I wanna keep the stock deck due to security and all running through it. Is it possible to hook up subs into a stock deck and if so how?

Depends on if you have an upgraded system (I.E. bose or monsoon) If you do not, you just need an amp, amp kit, subs and an in-line converter to pull the signal from.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

I did this on my first car. It worked fairly well for what it was.

If youve done them with aftermarket HU's then you can do it with the stock. Instead of pluggin the RCA's into the back of the HU, you install an inline converter and connect that to you rear 6x9's , then plug the RCA's into that

Yeah, unless your amp has a remote bass knob, you will need to control your subs through the stock radios bass settings. Which will also bring up the bass in the rest of your speakers, usually causing them to distort and blow.

I should be able to tune the bass down on the deck but turn the gain up on the amp tho, wont that take care of it for the most part?

Not really, because when you're at low volume, the bass from the subs are really overpowering.

Good point, i no the subs dont have a remote knob. I had a nice set of kickers in my truck with a kicker amp that had the remote bass controll wich was really nice but i can imagine how it would be without it

Thats the biggest problem with running it through the stock deck. You cant control the subs independently, without the remote bass knob.

YES!! get rid of it if your goin to put amps/subs in there... the price you will spend getn a good sounding line converter and having installed, just get a decent deck and call it a day.
