If I buy one, am I sure to replace the transmission or do some cars go their entire life with no problems?

Dealer replaced the trans in my 06 monte carlo ss six months and 10k miles after i bought it brand new. Only LS4 i've owned, but it got replaced early on. I would guess the rate is probably over 50%.

The other half probably need to, but haven't.

It's all about the driver, and not willfully ignoring maintenance.

Put a transmission in mine at 60k.

    Torque Converter failed.

Had a shift kit and a huge trans cooler with a tune.

Figured it was doomed from the get go. One less thing I have to worry about.
