Watch youtube or hit up the LS4 section on LS1tech.com.

And if you do anything, just replace the mufflers, you gain zero horsepower by adding a full catback system.

Borla, SLP, Magnaflow, Corsa, Flowmaster...basically anything sounds better because you have two extra cylinders.

Also, moving to the correct section.

yeah its all personal preference. you just have to watch some vids to hear the different exhausts. i have the corsa on my GT i love it. i also hear great things about borla. i dont know much about the other brands, i stayed clear of them cuz for the v6 they dont sound good. but a v8 is totally different haha. one thing i would recommend is a res delete if you want your car to be loud. ive heard them before on the gxp's and i think it sounds great, especially if you are doing aftermarket mufflers. so do some research, hit up youtube and ls1tech.com and make your decision haha

I bought MagnaFlow 16726 cat-back kit. Only my WIFE doesn't like the rumble. I get comments weekly about my GXP sound.

Catback kits are a waste, you only need mufflers to obtain the sound you want.

Changing the exhaust after the cat adds zero HP.

    Gxp catback fails quickly.

    Might as well go stainless.

yeah i mean catbacks are worth it. pipes are usually bigger so you get nice backfire when you rev. the stainless steel is always a plus, they are lighter too, atleast mine is.

Catback is only worth it so it doesn't rust out in the future.

All catback's really do on these cars is add noise, GXP's don't even gain 10WHP with HEADERS.

I've never heard a LS4 or 3800 "backfire", unless the tune was way rich or there was basically no exhaust on it either.

That cat-back gives the car a very nice rummble. The back fire I think he is talking about is when you are in tap-shift and roll off the throttle and it makes a bubbling sound. lol.

I like it too, get alot of heads turning... I bought it to have a better sound and if it helped with MPG, then I was ahead of the program. =-)

The drone noise is pretty tough at 3,000rpm on about 1/2 throttle. Wife hates it, she thinks it is too loud. My car, don't care if she don't like it. she can ride in her Dale Jr SS if she don't like it. =-)

my corsa has a backfire when i take my foot off the gas right before it shifts into 2nd WOT. its pretty cool.
