My '05 GXP just had a new ECM installed (actually a used one that was reflashed to match the car) The old ECM touched the power wire of the starter and got fried. When it got fried I hooked everything back up and not surprisingly the car would not start. The ECM needed to be replaced. The only thing it did when I tried starting the car was in the info center it said low fuel (even though it was full) service ABS, service Stabilitrac, service Traction control (which it never did before the ECM frying incident) Now fast forward to getting the used ECM programmed by the GM dealer, they matched the PCM to the ECM, reflashed the anti theft stuff and the car started up and everything was fine. A few days later I went to get my car tuned with HP Tuners and everything was fine.
The tuning didn't go well as it was missing a lot of parameters for some reason and there was an error when we tried accessing the tranny menu's, so we tried doing whatever we could and I drove home.
The very next day as I backed up out of my driveway the ABS pulsed when I lightly pressed the brakes and the ABS light went on and the info center said service stabilitrac/service traction, service ABS. It has been intermittently coming on after starting and driving the car, sometimes coming on right away, sometimes coming on a few kms/miles down the road, the premature pulsing seems to trigger it. Another thing is a VERY bad screeching when I back up or if I go left sometimes, my mechanic took off the caliper and theres a lot of pad left, but somehow it makes a really bad screeching when backing up on the one wheel (pass. side front)
Could this be related to the ECM frying, the tune that went wrong, or could it somehow be coincidence that it did this when the ECM was fried and I simply have a bad sensor that needs replacing? Could it have been from the tune when we were writing a tune to the ECM and it wasn't done when the tuner told me to start the car (before the tune was written, luckily we re-did the tune and it wrote) Or could it be from the error we had when trying to access certain parameters??
Is there a way to go about this at the dealer so they can test the ABS to see if it is the sensors? I heard the ABS has it's own computer, so I hope that when the ECM got fried it didn't run through the harness and possibly damage the ABS computer (BUT if it did, how could the dealer properly diagnose that?) I don't want them to play the "replace sensor 1, didn't work, replace sensor 2, didn't work and so on...."
Anybody have suggestions??
Thanks
