Taking off the dipstick tube and it is stuck. mounting bracket was removed and it will not budge no matter how much force I muster.. I'm hoping I'm missing something...

On the GTP it's just held on with one bolt on the block and an o-ring at the pan. It's in there pretty good though. Hit the pan end with some PB blaster and give it a twist.

May be different on the GXP.

It's definitely just the one bolt. I'm going to cut it in half so I can at least take the exhaust manifold off (was going to do this anyway) and thread in a bolt and try to twist it out... It's really stuck in there.

There is a o-ring on the tube in the middle and that along with it being about 1in longer past the o-ring and slightly curved going into the block is why they are hard to remove. For sure if they have never been removed before.

I would spray some lube/pb blaster down there by the entry point and see if you can see the lip on the bottom of the diptstick. Sometimes you can get a little flat blade screw driver in there to help pry it up.

I'll give that a shot first. It looks like it has scooted upwards a little bit so I may be able to get a screwdriver in there. Thanks for the tips!

Changing my coolant turned into a disaster with a crack radiator. It must have been pretty brittle but it has been new issue after new issue since..

Run the car for 10 min take out the 15mm bolt and gently twist left to right while pulling. Pull the oil fill off as well.

I was able to get it out... I initially was able to pull out the dip stick tube, or so I thought. I later learned that the 3 inch end of the tube was still stuck in the block, flush to the block. At this point hope was given up and I thought I was done for.. But, after some digging I learned it still could be saved.

I soaked the remaining portion/block entry point in WD40 and Seafoam for 2 nights. Then I used different sized lag bolts to thread into the remaining piece. After 2 hours of knuckle smashing, lots of profanity, and a little muscle, it eventually came out and saved me from having to remove the motor.. hallelujah
