First off, if you want info about my ride, it will be in my Sig below, just click the build progress link. For those who do not know...of course. Lol!

I decided to do my Lower Intake Manifold gasket before doing my power steering complete unit job. I will be starting the project in a couple of weeks. Before I start I want to make sure that I have everything I need.

I prefer to get acdelco gaskets, instead of the Fel-Pro ones, but I'm not sure which ones would be better to use. Maybe it doesn't make a difference. Let me know what you think about this. Also, let me know, if I missed anything or need to add to the list.

    Now for the list!
    - Aluminum Lower Intake Manifold Gasket
    - Metal Coolant Elbows...I'm not sure, if I need 1 or 2.
    - Throttle Body Gasket
    - Supercharger Gasket "Upper Plenum" w/Rings
    - Valve Cover Gasket w/Grommets
    - Fuel Injectors O-Rings...I'm not sure how many
    - Permatex*thread sealant for LIM bolts
    - Permatex RTV for corners of LIM
    - AutoLite Spark Plugs...What spark plugs are best for the mods I have listed in my Sig?
    - Spark Plug Wires
    - 180* Thermostat
    - Oil for Oil Change
    - 1 Gallon Concentrated Coolant
    - Cleaning Supplies....I really don't know what I need for this. Enlightened me Please....Lol.
    - Paint to touch up parts....I don't know what I need for this.
    - Lmao....I need to clean the trunk out to put my uninstalled parts in.

I just recently replaced water pump and alternator. I might do the power steering pump while I'm down in there.

I'm been looking around the net for torque specs, but every time I see some specs they are different from the next specs I see. So, I'm kind of confused on this aspect of the replacement.

I have a garage full of tools I would say I have the tools to do this project.

super charger gasket is called a upper plenum gasket, you'll need one elbow, but have to take the new o ring off the unused elbow and put it on the alt brackets cast elbow. they sell both in one pack.

id get some al 104 copper plugs for those mods. gaped at 0.50

for cleaning, get some degreaser, crc engine bright, purple power. then wash it off. clean it all up before the work starts.

id do the p/s pump during the lim job. your right there already with extra room even.

second thought, you can break the upper elbow and take the lim off and leave the alt bracket. what i did. as i had just done the new elbow on the cast elbow on my car.

you can see the snapped elbow in this pic. this way you can lift the lim up and off as level as you can. i just slipped the new elbow in when the lim went back on.

Why are you replacing your PS pump? Is it bad? If not, you should leave it be.

I just break the elbow off, when I first start. After everything is off, I take out the pieces that broke off in lim out. Then when I put the lim back in put the elbow in there with the old seal.

theres no seal. you'll see the new elbows, they just have a o ring on them.

i also took my dog bones off, the lower rad hose off, then rocked the engine back and fourth a few times to drain the coolant from the lim. not one drop fell from it into my lim valley. i didnt even do a oil change.

What would be a good oil to use for a engine that has 230,000 miles on it.

the expensive stuff should be better oil. but a car with over 200,000 miles, just dump the oil every 3,000 miles and fill with the cheap crap and drive on.

I want to take out the fuel line. Do I need a special tool to do this or is there a work around?
