So I bought this 98 GTP with a bunch of mods. One of which is the late model S/C on a 1998. I am replacing the blown engine, #5 cyl has a dime size hole on the edge of it. I pulled the super charger and the Monkey's I bought it from had removed a whole lot more of the intake than I imagined would even be close to correct. From the pictures I have seen here, all that has to be removed is about 7/8 inch to open the manifold to match the S/C outlet. These guys carved it up like a Thanksgivig Turkey!! The large hole on the throttle body end of the intake is where they stopped. The whole manifold is chopped out!! Hopefully I can post a pic. Any advice is helpfull. I am going to gasket match a stock 98 LIM to the 2004 S/C gasket and thats it. Am I correct on this?

Is it opened up like this???

Normally most don't open it up that big, this is more for a GenV intercooled setup. Post some pictures and we can tell you if it is a hackjob or worth while.

They may have opened it up for an intercooler in the future while they were in there, people go to the BBV hole then stop.

Looks just like that but they even went to the other side of the BBV hole. How do I post pics?

best way, go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket. Create an account, its free, tons of space.

Upload the pics from the computer, organize how you want.

They have a direct copy link to each, copy paste with the little "Insert Image" button on the toolbar when you make a post.

Thats how the one that came with my gen v looks. I was wondering if its a problem cutting it up that far. Any ill effects from that?

No problem at all. I mean it has it's advantages mainly the purpose of it is to even out the air flow to all cylinders and it helps if you smooth out the bottom how I did as well as the ports on the lim for a much smoother flow.

i thought you were suppose to machine it in like a square how the 04+ gasket goes why did you make it round on there

It really depends on the intercooler. My intercooler stuck down into the lim. Which is why it was the shape it ended up.

Well I ported this one to gasket match a gen 3 not a Gen v. If I can I will port it to gasket match a gen v but idk how they look just yet.
