oh kids the time has come for some more ponies. ive been working hard/saving to get this pieced together and underway and the time is almost here! The plan is a gen v/n*/lq4 maf/3.5 sc pulley/modified l67 lim/ tune/nitto drag radials. shooting for 13.5 or better in the spring and i KNOW its gonna be easily attainable if i get the tune spot on.

    what i have so far:

    Gen V Supercharger
    3.5 mps
    s/c gasket
    aluminum lim gasket
    coolant elbows
    injector o-rings
    s/c oil

    what i need:
    longer s/c bolts
modified lim (which Bill is modifying for me as well as smoothing intake runners)
Northstar TB w/ lq4 (getting on black friday

The total build will be just under $1000 (before dyno tune)
tune and Nittos wil be after build is complete. looking at starting this RIGHT AFTER i get my n* soo after black friday. gonna hit it up in my bro in laws garage. prob gonna change fuel filter/plugs as well while im in there. Going to Performance Dyno in concord n.h for the tune. idk if ill use my 3/4 or 3.5 pulley..well see whats the better option. PICS TO UPLOAD IN A LITTLE BIT

    Gen V blower
    UMI performance trailing arms
    N* w/LQ4 MAF
    GM axles
    3.5 pulley
    l67 oil cap
    L32 Lim
all gaskets,sc pil, coolant elbows, injector orings etc.

QUESTION THOUGH...my tb adapter doesnt mate up with the TB itself, screws dont line up no matter how i configure it, last pic shows what i mean..am i dumb or is something wrong here?

cam/shpam, already have brand new 1.95 yella terra aluminum rockers with ls6 springs

time to work on weaker areas of the car

AND thats like asking why s/c when you can turbocharge when its better? its all based on opinion and how deep a persons pockets are..if i had the money ot would be a heads/cam/Intercooled whipple gtp already

if you have nothing useful to add/comment/help here then please stay out of my thread, please and thank you

Man, cams do work! Its not its bad all you got but, headers and cam ONLY will get u to 13.7s
Thats all I got and went 13.5 on all seasons
Gen III runing a 3.4 pulley
Stock everything besides headers, cam exhaust and intake
Next time do get a cam, trust.me, youll love it!!!

At your mod/power level, a GenV isn't doing a whole lot for you over the GenIII. To take advantage of what the GenV does better, you'll need to do a cam at the very least.

false..the blower is overall more efficient, creates less heat and takes less power from the crankshaft at any given rpm over the gen 3

take a stock gtp with gen 3 put on a gen v and see a 15-20 whp increase ANY day of the week. hell the 04 and up were rated at 20 crank hp over the 97-03..and not because of a freeer flowing exhaust or intake..just the blower upgrade.

to say im not gonna make power over my gen 3 is very untrue..and with what mods i DO have is gonna help it shine even more

but thanks for reading, good day mate

Possible. But its also a redesigned engine vs the 03.

Looks like it will be a good build. You should get headers eventually! And always scan for knock, cuz you never know how much more there will be with the Gen V.

ya kno, i HAD ssac autocrome headers brand new but i sold em..i couldnt differentiate them vs. the plog/downpipe..i just didnt see the power dif. being enough for the troubles
will i prob get em eventually? prob

    He never said that.

the l32 just had slightly dif heads, better connecting rods and other lil stuff like dbw throttle, dif but no better, lower intake manifold and ofcourse the gen v

If you kept the stock L67 TB and did nothing but a GenV swap you will see about 3-5whp on a stock GTP. Your biggest gain is coming from the N*/LQ4 setup and not the GenV itself.

The adiabatic efficiency of the GenV vs GenIII is almost identical... what you're improving is the VE, which is just the amount of air the blower moves at a given RPM/boost level.

I'd bet on a less than 10whp gain at your mod level from swapping everything you just swapped. Now if you were to get a cam/ic you're talking 15-20whp over the GenIII.

Also what are you paying for your dyno tune? I could get you 2 hours of dyno time with a tune (from someone who's tuned nearly 100 3.8's) for $200 if you wanted to make the trip to South Windsor CT.

that sounds pretty badass to me..performance dyno in concord n.h charges atleast 500.

whos the tuner? your buddy or a actual pro tuner?

I'm the tuner, and I bet the guy at the place you want to go does not specialize in 3800s like I do.
