Umm title says it all. I have a 3.4 inch and wondering what i need to do to reduce the pulley size any more than that and what the dangers might be having it at 3"

You would need to be Intercooled and cammed to run that small of a pulley and smaller. Along with 42.5 injectors, tuning to the pcm, and headers I'm guessing if you don't have them.

    Who needs pulleys?

Just wrap the belt around the SC Spline...

LOL. Now wouldnt that be cool? That thing would be spinning a stupid speeds.

I was thinking the other day, in fact, why dont we have something like a timing belt driving the supercharger? Wouldnt that all but eliminate belt slip?

I think GTP SE is right on. From what I've gathered, you will at least need a fullsized intercooler and rockers (more likely a cam) for a 3" pulley. You would really want headers at that point, as that is about as far as a downpipe and PEMs or a Plog will go. A cam would probably make it easier. Intake side, you would benefit from a ported blower and a throttle body upgrade. Then a good tune and a new tranny. But it sounds like you are falling for the trap of trying to hit a certain pulley size. The pulley size should be low on the priorities. Get your supporting mods together, tune for ideal A/F and timing and only go as small on the pulley as you can without compromise to your tune.

The only time I was able to run that small of a pulley knock free, was when I had 1.9 rockers wizaired, headers, stage 3 IC, 180* tstat, hogan DP with hiflo cat, Lightning injectors, fp rewire, allt rewire, stage 1 vboost, and a custom tune. I was still on the edge of knocking, but those were the mods I had when running a 3.0 pulley.

well i did fall into that trap. I'm only just now getting into car moddin, especially with the 3800 motor. I am learning lots as i go but some times its frustrating because there are things i don't know or don't understand. so far though this forum has been envaluable for this. I'm sure as i continue with this thing you'll see me on here more and more.

What times (1/4 mile wise) are we looking at with a 3.0 w/ supporting mods vs. lets say a 3.2 w/ supporting mods....trying to get in the 13.5's and just wanted some more opinions....and is this possible with a plog instead of headers? not trying to thread jack

    I have a MPS from ZZP (3.4 & 3.2)
On Slicks, last fall I ran a 13.274 1/4m with the 3.2 pulley and STOCK Timing...
No Cam, No Rockers, No IC!

I believe with the tuning I've done since, I should be in the high 12s with the same mods

You WB tune? A 3.2 on a GEN V, with no cam, rockers or IC is impressive, if you have no knock and are running a decent AFR. Times look very good too.

If that stands............can you say "factory freak?"

I would say get Trannyman to get your stuff tuned up. And good luck with the 12's.

I would guess if you had a different DP at least it would free up some more HP for ya. Also are you running the stock airbox on your car? You might wanna consider that to allow a bit more air and cooler air into the system.

With the 3.4, maybe a blip or 2 of 1-2deg
With the 3.2, I had 2-3deg at the top of the gears then...
    Now 3.4 I see maybe 4 lines in 20,000 with under 1deg

Nope wasn't saying that. I thought I had read that you had only a few options hence me saying what I said. I might have seen someone else's profile or listing of their mods.

I never clicked on your profile to see what you ACTUALLY HAD, my error again.

    Sorry
