    Looking to see if parts from a newer say 05 or 06 will fit on my 97? Interior wise. I know engine and trans will. Thanks

    Transmission isn't a direct swap. The internal wiring harness is different. The pin assignments are different.
    2001 black GTP coupe, Gen V, ZZP S2IC & billet fuel rails, XP cam, LS7 lifters, 105# springs, ZZP MPS w/3.4 pulley, Northstar tb, LQ4 maf, ZZP headers, K & N CAI, Meziere electric wp, Caspers fp retire, F body front brakes, GMPP strut braces​, Don Rome strut brace mounts.

    If I were to take the engine and trans it wouldn't it be easier to take the a frame?

    That's the GM recommend method of removing and replacing the engine and transmission assembly. Again, you can't just plug the 03 and newer transmission into your 97 to 02 engine harness. The electrical connector pin assignment on the 03 and new transmission is different.
