    on my 3.8 NA

i noticed the temp gauge wasnt going up as normal. (i did replace the thermostat last night just to be sure)
after driving 20 or so miles my low coolant light came on so i checked it was low maybe a cup worth low. but the upper radiator hose was warm and the lower was way way cooler, I know a radiator is suppose to cool the coolant but it seemed way to cold. after replacing the thermostat it gets to temp way faster. my next thing is going to change the coolant elbows prolly this weekend. gotta get it done before christmas driving..

Make sure you have the thermostat in the correct way. It may not be opening up. Also did you change your temperature sensor as well?

the thermostat is in correctly, it gets to temp fine, I was thinking of changing the temp sensor, but checked with a scan tool and the temp is right on with the gauge.. I know the lower intake has been changed based on the red rtv I can see around it lol. and nothing in coolant or oil to show signs of bad head or intake. just boggled my mind is all,

Did you bleed the cooling system after changing the T-stat? Could just be air trapped in it.

Well this is Michigan, temps are cold and much less flow is required to keep the engine cool.

Like they mentioned check to see if you have the updated LIM gaskets, you can tell by looking in between the heads and LIM. Black means plastic faulty gaskets, and silver means you have the updated good aluminum gaskets. The reason they suggest that is because elbows are usually part of that job, so if the lim gaskets fail later you'll probably be replacing the elbows again.
