Hey guys I haven't been on here in ages. But I guess that's what happens when you join the army. So I am almost finished with my training and about to go home. My dad called me a few days ago and told me my 99 grand prix gt had started leaking coolant around the throttle body and plastic intake. SO first off I guess my question is how hard is that to fix and how much.

I also have a buddy who wreaked his 05 comp g gtp a while back it is sitting in his drive way just rotting away. I want to switch the seats but also thought about a top swap while im at it. Just wondering if its possible to do the swap using the gen 5 blower and DBW throttle body and then custom mount the 05 gas pedal somehow. He is only wanting like 1500 for the 05 and I thought that would be a good deal for all the parts.

Let me know what you think. Again like I said, im in the army and it might be hard for me to reply everyday to question or comments so plz don't be hateful if it takes a little bit to reply. Thanks

The throttle body has a gasket, because the coolant actually flows through the throttle body. The gasket is cheap and easy to replace.make sure your LIM gaskets aren't leaking as well.

You can do a Gen V top swap, but you need an L67 drive by cable throttle body, which in my opinion is better since there's no lag.

As for a DBW throttle body, you may be able to, I know Bill did the opposite to an L26, but I think it's pretty complicated. I'd stick with drive by cable is I were you.

I'd be interested in buying that comp g trans if you want to sell it. Depending on the color i'd buy some other parts as well and can help you pull it apart. You'd have to do a whole top end swap to get the sc to work and you'd have to use a cable tb.

yea I would be interested in selling that trans if I get the car. So what your saying is it is just a simple gasket that needs replaced to stop that leak. I remember reading somewhere that it could be the plastic intake because of the heat and over time they tend to warp.

It depends on where it's leaking. Pics would help tremendously.
