Hello everyone. I bought an intake from chrome airintakes.com for my 04 Gp. Ive seen other intakes on some of the other members cars here and notice a small second airfilter. Now im alittle behind on the times so I always remeber using that as an engine breather. But I have no idea where it goes now on the car. My kit came with that small filter. Any help would be definetly appreciated.

    Thanks

Don't hold me to this, but I THINK the 04+ had an air injection hose attached to the intake. That's what the little filter I assume would be for.

Why would an intake company send anything that had to do with your oil cap?

Yes, 04 has a vacuum hose that comes off the intake and goes to a vac line toward the top of the intake.

My opinion, ditch the breather and add a vac line back to your new intake, because it is doing nothing but creating a vacuum leak. What I am doing with mine is I am going to use the stock fitting that goes into the intake. I am going to drill a hole in the new intake and place a rubber grommet that the stock piece fits snuggly onto. I will then use a longer piece of vac line and slide it over the stock piece and go over to where the stock vac line connects.

I am using the longer line because of my orientation of the intake will move the vac line out to where the stock line will no longer reach.

Oh I did that, theres a fitting on the intake tube for the vac line that goes to the intake manifold. I used pieces from the stock vac line. I dont remember which member but I saw a breather setup where the filter was attached to a hose that went down somewhere behind the crosspipe for the headers. I looked on my car and saw a hole on the engine behind the crosspipe. It doesnt look like anything but thats why I ask to be sure.
