Well I'm just trying to decide which route I want to take. I understand that if I keep modding the n/a, i'm not going to get anywhere. I just need some advice on whether to go top swap or turbo. What would be best? I guess i'm looking to get around 400hp or so. If I go turbo, I'll most likely do the Z3 kit.

    Any suggestions?

I just heard turbo was basically a money pit, but I want to go fast. Maybe not necessarily 400hp, but somewhere in the vicinity. I just don't know what exactly will be the best bang for my buck.

you start running 12s somewhere in the 300 whp area if you know how to drive. 400 whp is a LOT of power for us. the only way to get there is to run a lot of nitrous or run a turbo setup. im not sure youre understanding what youre trying to get yourself into right now.

get in someone elses car that is local to see how fast a low 13 second car feels before you go overboard and try and run 11s.

I'll just read more on both Turbo and top swaps and see what i'll end up doing. Maybe a top swap with additional mods would get me where I would like. I'll just keep researching.

Step away from the forum. Get drunk and bury your money somewhere. You'd be better off lol. Now with that said 400whp is no kiddy club.

I will say this know your end goal. You'll save a butt load of cash that way.

if you honestly think turbo is the direction you wanna go then just do it first

I agree with others though if you want to go fast find a different platform to start with

98 gtp sedan forest green ,S1X intense cam,Intense pcm,Magnaflow exhaust, ubend delete,TEP trans 3.29's,3.4 smoothflow mps,Dyno'd 281hp and 371ft #'s of trq at the wheels

My only problem is, the GP is basically what I have to work with. I would love to get a GTO or something, but it's out of the question right now as i'm still in high school. So basically it's mod the GP for now.

Ok if in the long run you want to turbo don't bother doing a S/C setup.

Search the forums used turbo kits go up for sale all the time in that price range. Usually at the end of fall beginning of winter but some pop up all the time.

save up your money. by the time you have enough money to do either the right way, you will have made up your mind. Also, go ride in someones LS1 camaro or something to know how fast u want to go.

Ill bet $20 that I spent less on my turbo build then most spend on a s/c build with less power.

Gotta love the ignorance level in your post dude... rly...

Think you missed a BIT of sarcasm in his post too...we know it isn't ten times as much...but it is for sure A LOT more than a typical top swap can be had for...which is less than a grand
