Wipe the trans. dipstick on a clean white cloth and see what the color is. If it's still red or red-ish then no problem.

Check the fluid level while the car is fully hot, in park, running. If it's not full then top it off.

When was the last time a fluid/filter change was done? How many miles on this trans?

Left turn slipping is typically low on fluid.

yep exactly my case in my first year of college lucky I took all the winding roads home turned out my transmission lines were leaking real bad drove on it for a few more weeks before changing them since I didn't have a place to do the job and weather was terrible but went through a ton of fluid haha definantly make sure its filled up before driving it again I remember mine being scary low when I checked it after it was slipping on left turns but good news is my same trans is still strong today 2 years and about 65k miles later ive added a trans cooler and shift kit since I was seeing temps of 220+ degrees in the winter but that's all ive done to the transmission the whole time owning it.
