My girlfriend's 04 gp is a bit rough around the edges but she loves it. Right now its its biggest problem is that the gauge cluster works when started cold, but when its shifted into drive (only drive reverse and neutral do not affect it) it totally dies except for backlighting. If its shut off and immediately restarted its still dead, but if left for 20+ minutes it works again only to die when put into drive. Its also running rough and smells rich, though I'm unsure if those are related problems as they started at different times. If anyone could offer some ideas i would appreciate it, ive steadily been doing repairs that are possible (and still needed) repairs for the all around issues but im not having much luck.

That's an odd one. Try pulling the cluster and ensuring a good connection at the back of it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

When was the last time it had plugs and wires changed? Clean the MAF and throttle body? Change the air filter? If the answer to any of those is "I don't know", then do it. You say you are doing repairs but didn't say exactly what you've done. Some specific info would go a long way. Also, is the check engine light on? How many miles on the car?

A full tune up has not been done. Shes had it about a year now and bought it from her uncle. He claims he did a complete tune up on it just days before she picked it up. So far we have replaced both radiator hoses, fuel filter, gauge cluster, new air filter (i work in an oil shop so my first move was a full service oil change) trans filter and flush (she did that on her own) radiator flush (before hose replacement), ive done a MAF check on it and it didn't affect how it ran.

Also its got close to 200,000 on it and when the codes are ran it gives me a "random multiple misfire" code, an ABS code and an airbag code.
