I've been looking into modding my 2002 Grand Prix SE, I don't have a lot of money but I am willing to spend some to mod my car a bit =P
I've really been looking into turbos but the kit for my car would be like $4800, my car itself unfortunately isn't worth that much o.O
Just wondering if anyone has successfully modded their 3.1L V6 and would like to share how they did it, cost, and sites they used, that would be awesome! =)

hey bud! unfortunately, modding a 3.1 will never net you too much power. unless you do an all out turbo build.
here are some sits that will help you. all i have on my 3.1 is an intake which i bought off ebay for 40 bucks.
check out Milzy Motorsports - American Muscle, Reborn
    and also check out 60degreev6.com.

Honestly most will leave it stock and if anything can make your own intake and ride it like it is. Or drop it a L67/L32 etc
Squirrels are my engine. I need a Ford Regal
    04 Comp G.

It's not worth modding a 3100 at all. But if you get bored and the next time you have to do the lim you could port and polish everything while you have it off.

04 Comp G zzp stb's, UMI ta's, Speedbuilt sways, bully flo heads, XP, zzp headers, fsic, thrasher shift kit, 60#, 2.6" corsa 2.5", Inferno hood

Resurrecting an old thread here but to answer the OP's question: YES you can mod the Grand Prix SE 3.1 engine and boost the hp and torque output. I spent a total of $1000 doing the following: U-Bend delete (gained 10HP), installed a 2.5" cat back straight pipe into 2.5" Y-Pipe into dual 2.5" Magnaflow mufflers (gained 20 more HP for this specific exhaust due to 3 degree KR reduction with this setup), and finally having a pcm flash from ZZPerformance (add 10HP for the tune). Total crank HP went from 175 to 215 for a nice 40HP increase over stock. The 3.1 benefits from exhaust and pcm flashes mostly. As for intake or the internals theres not much you can do for the 3.1 motor. Most people don't realize the potential of this motor. Jbmonte has a real nice write-up on this topic and it was his posts that I followed and my GP just rips for a 3.1 compared to when it was stock. The power difference across all RPMs is astounding.

I'd love to see a dyno of the results.

No way a 3.1 or NA 3.8 will gain 20hp from a larger exhaust that doesn't help with any flow as they can't even outflow the stock 2.25in exhaust they come with stock. Less knock is good but with no extra air coming in that won't create magic HP gain, we're talking maybe 5-10hp total for increased timing.

Not hating, just saying those results are kind of inflated. Guys will spend the same kind of money on a stock NA 3.8 and still not keep up with a stock GTP.
