90-91 Grand Prix is when they put that engine in the car.....I had a 91 Grand Am with the 2.3L HO quad and it was great for its time. Could beat any 6 banger and some 8's with its Muncy High Performance 5 speed. Never took it to the track but I would have to guess it ran low 14's in the 1/4.

Hey Scotty, you better watch yourself. I know some people who know some people who robbed some people.
I used to live in Bville, I bet I can find you. Besides, If I had a Tom Tom, I could find your job. (If I had a Tom Tom, I'd have about 50k less miles on my car.haha)
    I'll see you in Branson

From what I heard that was a common problem of the quad 4. The usually blew around 100K is what I was told.

I have an 89 olds cutlass calais with the lo quad 4, and yea I blew the head gasket at about 80,000 miles, need a icm now and some valve work done,so while working on this I got my wife A 97 Grand Prix SE.

So if anyone got any spare 11 pin icm's, for the 89 olds cutlass calais let me know.

I think your best bet will be a salvage yard. Yea the headgaskets in these motors usually go around 100K miles, and when they do you will usually find a crack between the intake and exhaust valve seats. Its not hard to rebuild them, but I did find that the felpro valve stem seals did tend to leak a bit, so I went back with GM ones and they sealed up fine. Not sure if they packaged them wrong, but the GM ones I had to press on with a socket, and the felpro could be put on with your hand.

Sorry for the late response but yea, my head gasket just started leaking a little and was getting a little water in the oil, so I replaced hg, had head pressurized and milled, and the shop that did that put the valve seals in also, and if I remember right it was the felpro gasket set with valve stem seals I purchased. And now there is a tick in the #4 exhaust valve area (checked with stethoscope). hope its just a lifter though.
