    Got some of the stuff today.



    Shown:
    Master kit w/ pistons
    Bushing kit
    Washer kit
    Stater support bearing
    Lube dam
    Filter
    Magnets

    Bob made a good point on the bushings. For $27, I went for it. Just need to figure out how to get them all in...

    No ONE reason in particular. But here's how I ended up with the 2.93 setup.

    1.) It's the standard ratio for the supercharged cars. Whoever buys it won't NEED a tune to use it. (When I eventually sell my car, I'm pulling the built trans and selling it separately)
    2.) According to the TEP website, "The 2.93 ratio set is what we suggest and use for all builds making 400+whp and has proven itself to be the most durable."
    3.) I don't drive it a ton, but when I do, it's like 75% highway. My mileage already sucks, a lot. I higher ratio would only make that worse.
    4.) Availability. I bought them used. It's what the guy had. Honestly, that trumped everything else.

    Got the new bushing pushed into the stater support. My hillbilly press worked pretty good. I didn't want to use a hammer and socket.



    Very little damage, if any, to the bushing.



    Also dissembled, inspected, and reassembled the input/3rd sprag assembly.

    Thanks Bob. I'm really taking my time with this one. Pouring over every detail, and researching as much as possible. All the old posts from Trannyman95 (Dave @ TEP) are a gold mine.

    Speaking of TEP, looks like I'll be needing an input clutch apply piston from him too. I won't be using this one.

    I wish I could have done what you are doing. Seems like every time I broke a trans, I had to have it fixed yesterday (my car was a daily for awhile )

    I hear you. I hate being in a rush. When it's done, I always feel like I could have done something better. Not this time...

    I can get a (mostly) working core from the pick-a-part soooo cheap. It would be silly to try to pull my current trans, rebuild it, and reinstall it in any reasonable amount of time. Plus, by doing it this way, I'll have a working transmission on the shelf as a backup in case anything happens to one of the 3 supercharged w-bodies in the family.

    New bushing goodness for sure. Most people skip them because of the difficulty of replacing. On a couple of the ones that I've done I was able to skip them because they were cores that were both below 40k on them.

    Now that I've done it, I definitely think it's worth the effort.



    Got the reluctor wheel mounted to the drive sprocket.



    My bonded separator plate came today. $15 shipped on Ebay from a dealership closeout.



    Fortunately, it was undamaged in spite of USPS's best efforts to destroy it.

    Only one left is the driven sprocket support.

    More work after a lunch break

    Got the final bushing in



    I cut a little slot in it to relieve some of the interference



    It doesn't get much closer than that



    There's two bushings leftover. One for the diffy cover of a non hd unit, and I think the other is for the torque converer



    Scuffed/buffed the sealing surface of the 2nd clutch drum



    Verified the function of the housing check ball





    Assembled the 2nd clutch assembly dry, then checked the clearance. I like it



    Now the clutches can soak
