they tend to leak as well. but ive found the bolts to be the source a few times now. when i did my pan gasket i used a thin smear of rtv on the block and pan and sealed the bolts, no leaks 3 years later.

I hope this does the trick. Pan looked good for the most part although, I have not crawled under yet. Tomorrow will be my fun day.

Applied Permatex pipe thread to each tranny bolt one at a time. They were all dry except for about two maybe three bolts. Took awhile. Thanks for help.

Now onto oil pan. Looks like a pain. Had it done about 6 years ago. It's been leaking for awhile.

the trannys pans the pan gets dimpled around the bolt holes and sometimes and needs to be hammered flat again. stock fat gasket works best, its re usable. the thin gasket that comes with a new filter is trash.

I did buy a new AC Delco tranny pan. I installed a Raybestos filter and gasket. Like I said pan was mostly dry. I am glad I applied sealant.

just repeat the same deal for the oil pan. you'd be like the 4th or 5 th guy ive told to try it and it seems they all stopped leaking.

Can you send me to link for its removal. Seen a bunch of videos but they seem pretty scary.

the oil pan, id clean it up with brake cleaner, then try sealing all the bolts with the thread sealant first. then keep an eye on it for leaks, if it still leaks theres links on yt for the pan drop, you need a engine hoist to lift the engine up some and remove the ac compressor.

some times you think the pan is leaking and its a valve cover too. best to de grease the whole thing, do the pan bolts drive and keep checking for a leak. you can wipe under the lip of the valve covers to see if they are wet with fresh oil too.
