how come everyone mills the flywheel insteady of using a spacer between the bellhousing and block seems like it would easier and cheaper in the long run and there is plenty of adjustment in the mounts plus u dont run the risk of a shoddy machinist just my curious thoughts and two cents

Cost of having a spacer made is typically higher than the cost of a flywheel. Yes, you do risk the machinist screwing it up (which is my problem) but the flywheels are cheap...especially when picked up at a junkyard.

It's going to change the mounting of the transmission, and affect the length you need for axles. Much easier to get the flywheel milled.
