How hard is it to swap a 5 speed into a 97-03 gtp? Anyone have a parts list?

complete interior is removed, includign dash,

you need, a donor car, and some welding, modifactions to the parts from the parts car..

then you need a camaro flywheel machined down

count on 40hrs or so for the swap
02 Grand Prix GT Intercooled turbo 5-speed 718whp 618wtq @ 21psi 7575 billet, spool valve, custom manifolds, 4" downpipe, 16way adjustable coilovers, 18x9.5 with 275's all around, gxp interior, gxp brakes
tilton triple disc, custom aluminum flywheel, tilton slave and master, an awful lot more

I noticed you are saying 40+ hrs to do the swap. kinda seems like thats going the hard way. I mean you're not doing a rear wheel drive setup, can you post anything on doing the swap? pics?...what is all needed for the swap from a donor car?

kuntize knows his **** about the manual swaps...After watching his threads, and all the pics, info he's said, it's pretty clear..

Not to mention blowing up the tranny now..
What tranny is going in now kuntzie??

And it would be ****ing awesome if you could do a write-up of some sort, because I'd love to do it to my car....and I know others would...

    sorry bout the thread jacking

The 5 spd was what made mine fun to drive. It was solid, too. Thought it has syncro problems initially, but it was the clutch and hydraulics

i only blew up the trans because of my own stupidity,

40hrs is the hard way are you kidding me? the whole interior has to get gutted and the trans and engine (engine optional but id suggest it) have to come out,

there is a write up on here i posted from another site where i made a thread (w-body.com)

    edit:
Kuntzie's 01 Turbo GT 5-speed thread----- pg 10 extra special sunday delivery!!

if someone is anexious enough to copy all my posts over to here into 1 thread go ahead and do er up

    That's pretty awesome!

I hate automatics. They always break.

The worst I've ever had happen with a manual is either needing a clutch, hydraulics, or shifter work. We did have a PT Cruiser where syncro in 5th stopped working well, and you had to count to 3 or 4 before putting into 5th, but thats the worst I've seen, and I've even road raced one for 10 years, now, and even THAT one is still working great.

~900 in parts + parts car, they can be had ubber cheap as most get rid of them when they need a clutch
