Support bars will do fine over a period of time, they are made to hold it up. I've had 4x4's holding up an engine in the bay for at least 2-3 weeks with no issues.

Changed it up. But I wanted to check with you guys first before I make it official.... Will these ratchet straps do the trick until next weekend, with no subframe? Decided not to use the chain etc that came with it

By the way.... This write up worked like GOLD. Thanks! First time taking one out "CLEAN" as well. Now I'll have to put all these bolts back in place to put the new rebuild in[emoji20][emoji28] PS, wish I could read those markings on the torque converter...

If you have any questions when you get there.. just post pics of the bolts. There's enough people around here that did the job so many times.. it's easy to ID them.

What's the best way to line up the engine mount. Trans mount is lined up and all 4 subframe bolts are in lightly

need to wiggle the engine around some. they tend to pop in place with a little fiddling.

I don't usually tighten subframe until engine mount bolts are tight. but when doing just a mount.. I'll use a prybar to move engine around a bit. probably has to go back to slide in.

Seem's when I thought all will be well. Put 2 gallons on trans fluid in and its leaking from the driver side cv axle? Tell me the bad news? I'm sure no good news can come from this

this a rebuilt tranny? or used? seal is bad, or the wrong one.

This the rebuild. Seal must be wrong or I put it in wrong one of the two. Back to the drawing board I guess

theres a thread around here showcasing what seal works and what dont. one seal is like a mm to large.

When you put the cover on, there's a seal that seals the cover to the .... the... the.. channel plate around the axle area. If this wasn't trans goo'd in and it turned, it'll leak. Pull the axle out of the driverside, undo the side cover bolts, redo that seal with more goo and put it back together. You won't be able to torque all the bolt, but you'll do enough and get a feel the the 18ft lbs (I think that's the spec) and can feel the others close enough. Flip axle back in and fill it up. Should be fine, I bet the seal rolled or something on you.

    Negative

You need to fix the seal that seals the outer side cover to the channel plate. It would be in a groove on the cover that seals where this red circle is drawn
