I for one did notice his temperature suggestion, though I personally suggest a higher temp, probably even as high as 250*, but don't quote me on that as I haven't tried it that high. At the end of this week I'm gonna take them apart again and completely clean them of the factory goop. I'm prepping for my projector retrofit hell, I might even make some LED halos to put around them since I have so many spare white LEDs.

I approve of this mod. That's pretty much exactly how my headlights are going to look when I get the money for the projectors. Excellent workz!

Thanks. The set with the clear corners are my first projector retrofit. The ones with the Audi-style (ripped-off lol) LEDs is the second incarnation of my second retrofit...still a work in progress. Thought I could beat Drunkie before he did his Morimoto retrofit...but NOOOOO he did it first, lol.

    Perhaps...

    Halogen vs. HID projector comparison

    5000K retros over 4300K fogs

    Stock cut off beam shot

Those pics are from my second, i.e. successful retrofit

The next few pics are from retrofit # 1 otherwise known as FAIL

    They look sexy ^^^ BUT...

    FAIL

    FAIL

The FX-R projectors in the first retrofit were too big to mount to the stock reflector so I thought I'd be slick and take out the reflector and aim the projector without any issues...yeah, can anyone say FAIL?

My second retrofit projectors are Morimoto H1's, but Morimoto D2S's work great too, uh hem, Drunkie. Hell, I just jacked Drunkie's thread

Technically still on the second one. The output of the fx-r's are fantastic. They're just too big.

The Retrofit Source online: headlight upgrades for all applications

Get the Morimoto H1 or D2S, those are the best fitting in our headlights.

Which would you guys recommend, the H1 or D2S? Same question for high beams. I'm planning on also doing highs and just aiming them so they see farther down the road than the lows (why not, since they'll only be on when there's no one in front of me?).

See the Projector thread...but either Morimoto is good, cause they fit.

Since I've already been through that thread like 17 times I'll just copy you and get the Morimoto D2S projectors.

D2S is better because they are a little shorter in length than the H1, plus the H1 HID sticks out the back a little more than the D2S bulb plug will. Remember, the biggest issue with projector retrofits on the 04-08 GP is the limited space behind the headlight. A Dremmel will be your dearest friend.
